Similar to the SR500 project Stu's taken a traditional cafe racer approach with the CX. Along with stripping away anything non-essential, he's upgraded every aspect of the CX that he felt let the bike down, including its appearance. 1980 Honda CX500 Cafe Racer by BBCR Engineering
This particular Honda CX500 cafe racer was built by a friendly guy named Gary based in Decorah, Iowa. He's done a hell of a lot of work on the bike and has even gone so far as to fit the rear monoshock from a 2009 Yamaha R1, he balanced this out by adding the inverted front forks from a Hyosung GT600R giving the bike the handling.

The 1979 Honda CX500 Deluxe underwent modifications to adopt the style of a cafe racer. The fuel tank, headlight nacelle, and drilled side covers were refinished in grey. A custom round tail section and solo cafe-style seat were added to the frame. Additional features include a shortened chrome front fender, center and side stands, and a custom license plate bracket with a taillight mounted to.
