Russell was born in 1872, walk up the lane a couple of hundred yards. To your right Cleddon Hall can be seen. Retrace your steps to Home Cottage gate. โ€ข Along the lane you cross the bridge over the stream on its way to the falls. โ€ข At Rose Cottage, look ahead and slightly right to an old stone stile with a gate to the left [7].

Description Waypoints (1) Enjoy lovely river views, woodland paths, and historic sites as you make your way from Tintern, past St Michael's Church, along the River Wye, via Brockweir, and back to the start through the woods and over Wireworks Bridge.

Step 1: This walk starts at the far end of Whitestone car park in the Wye Valley Woodlands. Please note it's very muddy in wet or wintry weather. Step 2: This car park has picnic benches, barbecue facilities and a playground although as of January '22 the playground was closed for refurbishments.

This round can be combined with A4 for a longer walk. If you are feeling really energetic the walk can be extended to a 9.5 mile circuit from Brockweir to the Beacon. SUMMARY. Wye Valley Walk Old Station Tintern, Cleddon Falls, River Wye

The Cleddon Falls cascades towards the Wye via Llandogo, and are best enjoyed with a relatively gentle four mile walk. Begin at Whitestones car park and set off into the rich pine forest, passing three viewpoints before emerging out at farmland and reaching the falls.

Description A lovely walk through beautiful woodlands that is not too strenuous and great to do with the whole family. There are some fantastic viewpoints along the way, some with a bench to relax as you take in the views.

area. Cleddon Falls can be seen, and heard, to the left. Take great care if you chose to take a closer look at the waterfall. โ€ข From the Falls [4] turn around and follow the road opposite. In a couple of hundred yards a large house can be seen over the wall to the right. This is Cleddon Hall, the birthplace of Bertrand Russell.

Description A gentle walk through the forest with moss laden trees and old boundary-marking stones, which can be started at Beacon View Forestry Commission car park. The route takes you down to the Cleddon Falls, which is particularly good to see after heavy rainfall.

Passing Cleddon Falls the route later descends gently to Whitestone (views and picnic site), continues through woodland and then steeply down to the river at Brockweir. The old railway line leads to Old Station Tintern and a riverside path to St. Michael's Church with pavements through the village to Tintern Abbey.

Next walk along Calle Antonio Maura to Plaza de la Lealtad. Head back to towards Plaza de Canovas de Castillo. Take the north-west exit and head towards Plaza de Santa Ana via Calle del Prado. The suggested walks in the section have been selected for social and architectural interest and include more than just classic Madrid sights.
